What is workplace ergonomics?

Is the study of the workers and their workplace environment.


Did you know that improper use of your chair, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and lighting in the office can cause physical harm to your body and sense? Here are some of the symptoms you may be experiencing, as well as their causes:




Headaches: Headaches can be a result from computer monitor glare and the monitor may be too close or too far away.


Eyes:  Your eyes may become irritated, fatigued or you may experience blurred vision. This can be caused by monitor glare or eye strain.


Neck and Shoulder Pain: Shoulder and neck pain may be a result of: the computer monitor being too far or too close, the work station you are working on may not be adjusted properly, the keyboard is too high or too low, or having incorrect sitting posture.




Hand and Wrist Pain: Hand and wrist pain can be a result of your chair being too high or too low, your wrists may not be bent properly when typing and incorrect sitting posture.


Back Pain: Back Pain can result from sitting too long without any breaks, desk too height, chair height,incorrect sitting posture monitor too far away.
  
Knee/Leg Pain:  Knee and leg pain can result from lack of proper foot rest, crossing legs for a long period of time, chair height and incorrect sitting posture.
